Why Most Plywood Will Choose Poplar Material

First, the largest tree species produced in my country is poplar. Poplar is widely cultivated in the area north of the Yangtze River, almost all of which are original ecological poplars, and they grow quickly. They can be felled in five or six years, and it is convenient to obtain materials. As for other tree species, due to the small cultivation area, fast-growing varieties are often required to meet the production demand, and the quality of fast-growing varieties and original ecological wood is quite different.

The second point is that poplar is easy to process. Compared with other woods, poplar is classified as an easy-to-process product, which saves production costs and easily controls the production quality. Therefore, the use of poplar can better ensure the performance of the multi-layer board.

The third point is that poplar has fewer scars. Many friends in the board industry know the impact of wood scarring on the quality and appearance of the board, so the less scarring, the better for the board. Poplar, a wood with less scarring, has also become the first choice for many companies.

The fourth point is that multi-layer boards are different from other boards in that they are made of high-quality wood veneers, which are obtained by rotary cutting of wood. Therefore, a large amount of large-diameter wood is often required, which is different from other use of pellets, wood chips, and wood fibers. Because of the requirements for raw materials, poplar is the best partner for multi-layer boards.

Fifth, according to incomplete statistics, poplar is one of the most durable and most stocked tree species among many wood species. The use of poplar to produce multi-layer solid wood boards can better ensure the quality of product furniture. Poplar material also has a certain contribution to the use of resources and environmental protection.

The sixth point, which is also very important, is that poplar contains very little formaldehyde. The so-called “absolutely” and “0” formaldehyde-free boards on the market that need to be paid attention to are fraudulent propaganda, because the wood itself contains formaldehyde, and the amount of formaldehyde contained in different wood species is different.
